A middle aged man in the Kankia town in Katsina State, Nasiru Juli, has thrown his community into confusion after he allegedly beat his wife, Hadiza Yusuf, to death following a disagreement in their home.
It
was gathered that Juli who resides with his family at Gachi Quarters in
the community, had flared up during the argument and beat his wife till
she gave up the ghost.
A close said reported that Juli had locked the deceased inside and beat her thoroughly, only for her dead body to be recovered the next by by neighbours after he had sneaked out.
“When
neighbours realised her door was still closed in the morning which is
not common with her, they had to force open the door where they found
that she was dead," the source said.
The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Aminu Sadiq Abubakar, said the matter has been transferred to the the Criminal Investigation Department and is being investigated.
