The death of Kelly Mayhew, a woman who died after getting an 'illegal
fake bum implant ' in a basement flat hundreds of miles from home has
been ruled as a homicide, authorities have ruled.
Kelly who travelled from Maryland to Rockaway in Queens, New York to have an operation to enlarge her buttocks had a botched surgery which took her life.
The surgery was performed by a plastic surgeon operating without a licence, and Mayhew, who was employed by the entertainment company, BET, died during the procedure.
After the injections of silicone were administered, Mayhew's breathing became laboured and her mother had to perform CPR and called the emergency services but they were unable to resuscitate her.
The fake doctor - who has not been named - allegedly fled the apartment in a grey SUV and still hasn't been found.
