Two years after he was declared missing, Professor
James Bolarinwa Olomo(pictured above) of the department of Nuclear And
Medical Physics at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife in Osun state
is yet to be found.
The University don left his home in Lagos on October 17, 2013, for a consultation job with an unidentified oil and gas company in Eket, Akwa Ibom and was last heard from on October 19th.
His relatives and members of the OAU Academic Staff Union of Universities held a meeting in the school premises recently where they described the disappearance of the university don as mysterious and called on the police to intensify efforts in their investigations into his where about. They complained that the police had refused to use his Laptop in their investigation.
The lecturers argue that the correspondence between the University don and the unidentified oil and gas company he went to consult for, could help in solving the mystery around his disappearance
They called on President Buhari and the Inspector General of Police to help in unraveling the mystery surrounding his disappearance.
Investigations showed that the University don on arriving Eket, lodged at Hotel Farlem situated on 8 Archibong Street, Afaha Ukwa, Eket, and spent three nights there. He planned to return to his home in Ibadan (Oyo State) on Monday, October 21, 2013.
When contacted, the hotel manager said his belongs was moved into a store since he failed to returned from an outing he went for on Sunday October 20th.
