According to CKN, Jide Ositale, a teacher at Leaders Foundation
School, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, subjected 10-year-old Gbenga Daniel
Philemon, to an extreme form of corporal punishment for not doing his
assignment. Daniel’s mother said he is traumatized and afraid to go to
school again.
She also alleged that the proprietress of the school, when
confronted, said if they are tired of the school, they can take their
kid away and boasted that not even the State government can tell her
what to do in her school. The parents are calling on the relevant
authorities to take interest in the case.
