Nigerian luxury Designer and Jeweller, Michael Awolaja, has reportedly been detained at an airport in London for not declaring the jewels worth over £100,000 with him at the London Heathrow aiport.
A source who had been
at the same airport at the time of his arrest revealed that Micheal had
been detained by security officials leading him with his luggage, to a
security room.
It was also revealed
that the designer also known as Malivelihood had failed to declare the
jewels on him which included diamonds and jewels alleged to be worth
£100k in his hand luggage, leading the security officials to assume that
he was an illegal dealer.
Following the mention
of the name of his company by the very angry Awolaja, his identity had
been confirmed leading to his release.
After being reached for the details of his experience, Awolaja had said:
"Lol,
Wow Yes, but it was just for a few minutes , I forgot to declare some
stuff which made the security people panic. Nothing big though".
