Celine Dion couldn't hold back tears as she honored her late husband and manager, Rene Angelil at a touching memorial service at the Colosseum (Caesar's Palace) in Las Vegas, Wednesday night, February 3.
"Let me start by
saying good evening good friends. Rene, the love of my life, would be so
happy to know we are here together. I feel the love in this room," Celine told crowds.
"This
is my home away from home. At the same time I'm supposed to feel
extremely comfortable being home and right now I'm not sure how
comfortable I feel."
Getting emotional as she remembered her husband of more than 20 years, she continued: "René
never hated anyone. Is it possible someone loves everybody? I don't
think so. But he never told me a person he disliked… Time was precious
to him. He loved life so much, so very much."
René died
on January 14, two days before his 74th birthday, following a long
battle with throat cancer. Reports confirm that the Canadian songstress
nursed her music manager throughout his treatment and she recounted how
the pair would sit together and watch 'The Price is Right', with René
crying with joy every time someone won.
Celine ended her tribute with: "Rene, I love you so much. Merci. Goodnight."
Shortly
before the service mother-of-three Celine, 47, shared an adorable
photo of her and her late husband hugging it out and after sharing the
picture, her team wrote: "Today, a 'celebration of life' of René
Angélil will be held at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace from 19 pm (PST)
and this will be distributed simultaneously online.
