Ginger is well
known for its culinary and medicinal properties and up to date is still
been used for this purposes. One interesting use of ginger is it can
also be used for hair treatment.
Most
women experience hair breakage, thinning edges and stagnant hair growth
which could be as a result of Genetics, hormones, certain
medications, excessive styling, overuse of ponytails that are pulling
too tightly, slicking down edges with gels that contain drying alcohols,
wig caps, and glues are all common causes for thinning edges.
Benefits of ginger for your hair:
- Ginger contains several components that aid in hair growth like magnesium, phosphorous, and potassium they encourage restored hair growth by stimulating blood flow to the scalp.
- Ginger contains natural antiseptic properties that provide alleviation for dandruff and adding sheen.
DIY mixture:
- For hair breakage - Squeeze the juice from the ginger and massage it into your edges with jojoba oil avocado oil.
- For edges - Mix equal parts of ginger root oil with another oil like jojoba, avocado, or olive oil.
- For hair growth - Mix ginger and jojoba oil together before applying directly to your scalp and massage in circular motions gently. Allow to sit for 30 min. wash with shampoo and condition.
Note
that applying ginger to the hair does not make it grow faster but it
helps stop the hair from falling off and stimulate the hair follicles to
grow at its own optimal speed.
