Teenage breast cancer patient has gotten a new lease on life as Bauchi State first lady, Hajiya Hadiza Mohammed Abubakar, takes over treatment and care.
The 19-yr-old identified as Sa'adatu Muhammed Giade
had since been pictured in a heart breaking photo showing her engorged
and infected breast, which had gone viral on social media.
The
teenage orphan has been lying helplessly at Ward 4 of Abubakar Tafawa
Balewa Teaching Hospital while in critical condition with no funds to
cover her treatment.
A statement issued by Yakubu Adamu,
SA Communications to the Deputy Governor, reveals that the news had
gotten to the attention of Hajiya Hadiza Mohammed Abubakar, wife of
Bauchi State Governor.
As was expected, the first
lady had stepped into Giade's case through her NGO, Bauchi Sustainable
Economic Empowerment and Peace Initiative (B-SWEEP).
Hajiya
has reportedly asked for Giade's details from the hospital authority as
she takes over all responsibilities for her medical treatment.
