Check out: Styles for the season

xmas style
Christmas season is the time for celebrations. Usually there are events such as white wedding, engagement, house warming party, child dedication, church service, special church thanksgiving, and all sorts. While different gatherings have different dress codes, there are several tips to take into consideration while determining what to wear for these occasions.

One can take a clue from these celebrities and what they are wearing to make a good fashion statement. Pairing a pair of dress pants with a blouse can make an attractive house warming party outfit. A flat shoes and a bold statement jewellery would be appropriate for the outfit.
  • If it is a night party, it is appropriate to wear more of a cocktail dress to the function. Consider a simple black dress with heels or darker jewel tone like rich purples and deep greens. Maroon is also an excellent colour for evening events and formal dresses. Have more fun with bags, shoes and accessories, but try to keep the dress fairly classic.
  • For a large fundraising, formal social events or balls, wear long gowns or sophisticated cocktail dresses. This is also a great time to play with more dramatic hairstyles and fun make-up trends. Try a bold red lip or long faux eyelashes for a formal party. Experiment with different fun hairstyles such as sleek finger waves or a high sock bun.
  • A party with friends is a great opportunity to try something new and fun. Little red party dresses are often fun for Christmas. Look for a dress with a unique neckline or hem to make it more interesting. Pairing a red skirt or red pants with a black or white blouse and heels is also a great way to dress up for a fun night with friends.
  • For a birthday party, you can add some bling and shine to the outfits by wearing an embellished top that has jewels around the neckline, or a skirt with lots of sequins and sparkles on it. Any dress with beading can be fun and appropriate.
  • For a perfect traditional wedding or special church thanksgiving, fitted Iro and buba, long skirt made with lace, or two wrapper with lace blouse are on point. Top it with well tied gele and wear costume jewellery to make a bold statement.
