In a new study carried out by
the American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology the removal of pubic
hair can cause serious harm to health.
The
genital skin is very sensitive area and therefore the process of
shaving can cause tiny injuries that might not be visible thereby
creating exposure to infections.
Women's Health Researcher from College of Charleston Andrea De Maria says
“Women are not aware of the risks of shaving pubic hair, because they are safely removing hair from other parts of the body”
Here are 4 major harms you could be causing yourself when you shave.
- Shaving creates tinny skin injuries.
- The tears in the skin give chance for bacteria as well as viruses to enter making you vulnerable to more infections.
- Pubic hair removal causes common abrasion and ingrown hairs.
- High risk of contracting STI’s such as herpes and HPV
Pubic
hair removal is not an indication that your body is clean. In fact it
alters the balance of the protective secretions which can significantly
change the micro-conditions of the area around the vulva.
If you have to shave, get a professional help.
